The Common Misconception of the Heart
The most annoying thing I hear when people talk about their heart is “If I listened to my heart I would be homeless.”
WHY would your heart want to be homeless?
Your heart is a compass and a magnet. It will lead you down the ALIGNED path. When we are actively connected to our heart our lives will ultimately get easier. We attract better relationships and we get fun side quests that bring us endless blessings. We know when to say no to the wrong job or situation, and we know when to follow the pull.
A Cracked or Torn Heart Chakra
A somewhat common issue I see in hearty spaces are cracks and tears, these are often created from a traumatic betrayal of some sort that occurred either in this lifetime, or a past life. They will leak life force energy out and struggle to generate enough energy.
This tends to feel like a deep slice of anxiety, or line of tension and can feel very heavy at times. Life feels tedious, goals feel an eternity away, and it is hard to let people in.
To be real with you, this one is easiest to heal with the assistance of an energy healer. However if you do want to start tackling this on your own you’ll need to practice this healing technique.
Toxic Weight
People who were born to narcissistic parents or to a very difficult family will often have bits of that heavy energy stored in their heart chakra. Since this is the space that rules relationships and is a highly magnetic area, these people may have more narcissistic people, or people similar to their parents toxicity, show up over and over again in their life. Different people of course, but the same pattern keeps repeating.
This is cleared by clearing out the energy from the heart space and releasing the people in your life who currently uphold the negative pattern with you. After these two things are done people will start attracting people aligned to their soul instead of their old wounds.
The Wall
A heart wall is super common, most of us have built a wall in our heart space at some point in time. This is a line of defense we create, either against bullies or abusers or difficult family members. While they help us in the moment, if the wall stays there longterm it will make letting people in difficult. People might be more independent than is healthy and find themselves dealing with a sense of solitude.
Walls can be knocked down through a visualization meditation, there are many available online. They can also be released in an energy healing session.
Disconnect or Shut Down
A disconnect means that the heart is generating energy but the information is not going towards your brain. A shut down creates less energy but also deals with not sending the information generated to the proper channels. This happens when we refuse to listen to our heart – either out of necessity, imposed expectation, or fear. It is, unfortunately, quite common to see.
These people will often present as go with the flow when it’s really that they are directionless. They don’t know what they want, not when it comes to big life decisions or small daily decisions, often leading them into careers that they hate. They will ignore subtle desires and cues from their body, deeming those things as unnecessary. It is common for them to be prone to mental and physical health issues.
This one is fixed by consistently asking your heart what it wants to do. It won’t answer at first, because it’s out of practice, but the consistent asking will wake up the channels once more. The other vital step is to LISTEN to it when it asks for things. Even if that something seems dumb. The heart will often pull, gravitate, or speak up when something is aligned with your path. When you follow this there is almost always unseen blessings that come through.
Another thing to note is the heart will ask for things that help heal it and often reflect desires you had when the original shut down took place. So if it was early childhood it might ask for toys or play that you weren’t allowed to have then.
The Void
Void’s freakin’ SUCK. This is when there is a deficiency in the heart that looks like a black hole. Fortunately they are rare. They feel like emptiness, a heaviness, create depressive episodes, and no matter what good energy you try to throw at it it never feels better.
I had one from the ages of 3 to 24 and required an energy healer to release it from me. All I know is that when I was 3 I was near someone who died, and carried some of that energy with me until I met the right healer who helped me release it. My heart has been warm and vibrant ever since. Since they are so rare I don’t have a ton of data on what creates them. I wanted to mention it so if anyone reading this resonates, they know they don’t have to live with it forever.
Never Despair
If you have dealt with heart chakra wounds for a long time that feels endless- please, please know it is something that can be healed and you can in fact feel better.
